I finally purchased the Nikon D3000 which I had been planning for months. Just a while ago, my dad noticed me tinkering with my new camera and he decided to lay down the old skool and show me his Nikon F-401s, 
which he kept since the early 90’s, complete with its film slot. He suggested I’d try using his 75-300mm zoom lens and unexpectedly, it just worked without too much of the nag (and it looks sick!). Now thats compatibility sustained right there. I got a new lens without even trying. I could go for some part time work doing some spy shots if anyone’s interested hehe. I’ve interchanged the lens in the pictures shown above, props from Nikon for convenience. Time to do some more DSLR studying.
